Role:

We are seeking an Intermediate Air Quality Scientist in our Calgary, Alberta office to assist our current teams with consulting projects across western Canada. The proposed role within our central Canada business would be someone with expertise in conducting emissions estimates, fugitive emissions measurements, greenhouse gas and methane control studies, project management and technical report writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform methane, fugitive emissions and greenhouse gas emissions inventories and reduction analyses.
  • Conduct fugitive emissions surveys at oil & gas installations in western Canada.
  • Liaise with clients and undertake project management duties.
  • Follow established health and safety policies.
  • Summarize measurement data and perform analyses and reporting.

Technical Skills / Abilities / Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with methane, fugitive and greenhouse gas emissions management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated skill in technical report writing.
  • Knowledge and practical application of health & safety requirements unique to air quality assessments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly and conduct fieldwork.
  • Work well independently including ability to work alone in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources.

Education / Qualifications / Memberships:

  • Degree in environmental science, geological sciences, engineering or related studies.
  • Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization (e.g., APEGA, ASET, P.Chem., P.Geo., P.Bio. in Alberta) would be an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license.
